![]() ![]() In this article, I’d like to make a list of all my plugins (the ones I still have or remember developing). Introductionīeing a full-stack developer and understanding how WordPress worked from the very beginning, I have never abused the functions.php file for custom functionality or features. Long before the explosion of form plugins, I coded several bespoke forms for front-end uploading. I remember one plugin was for a big company, and they requested a video upload form. This needed to be bespoke, as the uploaded data was on a secure server and there were several API keys involved. This ended up being a very nice and complex bespoke plugin. Years later, the site has evolved and my plugin is gone.Īnother plugin that started as a small project and an offshoot of the Traq project (a bug tracking system, similar to Redmine’s Trac) ended up as a plugin on CodeCanyon. ![]() The plugin, Roo Project Management, got a bit of traction until I pulled it down to merge it with a web directory plugin (as they shared the same code structure) and republish it on CodeCanyon as Roo Framework. Looking back I can see more bespoke plugins, such as a hotel management system, a CRM and a document manager. I used it for several clients and it worked perfectly for my needs. You can find an old version of GBCart on GitHub. Here’s a list of some of my old commercial plugins I’ve found, thanks to web.archive: Clicker CounterĪ basic statistics plugin. This plugin allowed text autocomplete on various search forms. This plugin still exists and it is being updated. This plugin has a very interesting history, which I’ll dive into below. WordPress Placeholder was a quick and simple function for inserting image placeholders in your design or code. Add the shortcode in your post or page (or straight into your template) and get a customized placeholder. Pretty easy.Ī modern UI (modern back then) mortgage calculator with email functions, multiple themes, results template and easy integration. It calculates standard mortgage payment, mortgage rate based on payment and term, and APR based on payment, term, and fees paid. I’ve reused this plugin with several real estate agents over time and I have improved it, but eventually it died. Mortgage calculators, and the entire financial niche actually, can get pretty spammy and it’s hard to market.Īnother great plugin with lots of downloads, Smart Backup was a complete WordPress backup plugin for database and file operations. You could create backups of your complete WordPress installation, files only, or database only. ![]() Backups could be restored using phpMyAdmin or various cPanel utilities. Backups could be sent via email as attachments. ![]() ![]() Using "Yes/No" fields from the Microsoft Access or Excel For example, by default, the Adobe® Acrobat® defines export value for a new checkbox as "Yes". However, depending on the project requirements, it can be virtually anything such as "Male", "Female", "Dependent" and etc. Here are the examples of the "Export Value:" field for check boxes and for list boxes: The "export value" of "Yes" is used as a defaut value for all checkboxes created in Adobe Acrobat. The "Export value" can be set or modified using "Field Properties" dialog in the Adobe Acrobat "Prepare Form" tool.īoth "value" and "export value" are always treated as text. If these two values do not match, then checkbox appears as "unchecked". If a checkbox's "value" matches its "export value", then the checkbox appears as "checked". It can contain any text as desired by the form designer. The "export value" is assigned at the time the field is placed on the form. It is used to determine if the checkbox needs to be displayed in checked or unchecked state. You have to fill checkbox field with a value in the very same way as a text form field.Įvery checkbox/radio button/list box has a special property called "export value".
